Boom Burger Owners Unveil Bam Burger In Mattituck

Owners of Westhampton's Boom Burger have opened Bam Burger in Mattituck; customers are invited to suggest ideas for milkshakes.

MATTITUCK, NY — A popular eatery in Mattituck is open again — with a new name, but the same owners.

Boom Burger, which also has a location in Westhampton Beach, reopened this month in the Mattituck Shopping Plaza by its new name — Bam Burger.

According to owners and longtime friends Anthony Catanzaro and Anthony Cicogna, the menu is the same, with build your own burgers in single, double and triple-patty sizes, along with plenty of new items soon to come.

Also on the menu are house and Caesar salads, as well as a veggie burger, made of spinach, cheddar, onion and sweet potato, hot dogs, wings, quesadillas, fries, tater tots, nachos, fried pickle spears, Nathan's corn dog bites, mac and cheese, chili, wraps, sandwiches, deep fried Oreos, and more.

Also on the menu is the "Movie and A Milkshake" — if you go to the movies next door, just bring in your ticket stub and get a free chocolate or vanilla milkshake with purchase; one per customer.

The eatery is also taking suggestions: If you have an idea, reach out on their Facebook page, Instagram or Google. "We want the customers to have some voice in our new menu, which is why we are going to be doing a new milkshake of the week special," the owners said. "If you give us a crazy and good milkshake idea you could win a free milkshake for every day we are open that week."

When asked why they changed names, owners said they wanted to create a distinct identity for the spot, which will soon feature a wide array of new menu offerings.

Bam Burger, located at 10095 Main Road in Mattituck is open Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday, noon to 8 p.m.

The owners added that they've brought a great new staff, many familiar faces from their Westhampton location.

Boom Burger first opened at the site in 2016 after the owners of Greek Bites closed to focus on their Moriches location.

Boom Burger has a popular location on Montauk Highway in Westhampton Beach.

Both Bam Burger and Boom Burger are located in the same two spots in Mattituck and Westhampton Beach where the two locations of Big City Burgers and Atomic Wings were sited before closing. Catanzaro and Cicogna said their business has "no relation to Big City Burgers."

However, they said, both used to work for the owner of Big City Burgers when it was open. The popular Boom Burger first opened in Westhampton Beach in 2012.

Since the business opened, the duo has been creating burger combos weekly to surprise their customers – who are encouraged to give a loud "BOOM" when they walk through the doors, sometimes leading to free food.

Some creations in the past have included a burger they named the '"Slinky". Inside the bun is a fresh beef patty topped with cheese and a fried egg. Then, there was the Doom Burger, topped with mac and cheese and chili.

"We work 16 and 14-hour shifts and when we sit down at night, we come up with new combinations and names for our burgers," said Cicogna.

The pair said they started the business after working at Big City Burger and quickly became friends with a vision — to open their own burger shop.

It wasn't long before they had the keys in their hand and got to work, creating a menu featuring their own sauces and all fresh ingredients, including vegetables from local farm stands.

Reflecting on their beginnings, Catanzaro said they didn't even have enough money to buy paint for the walls, so they decided to instead plaster the walls with comics.

But Catanzaro and Cicogna know it isn't what's on the walls that keep their customers coming back, it is their extensive menu filled with delectable delights.
