Hampton Bays Booster Club gives to Wyandanch Schools, their "SECTIONXI family", after fire destroys storage bin of track and football equipment

Hampton Bays Booster Club presented the Wyandanch School Board a check to help them in buying new track and football equipment.

The Hampton Bays Booster Club was invited to the Wyandanch Board Meeting on November 12 by their Superintendent Dr. Mary Jones. After the terrible fire that destroyed their storage bin that housed their track and football equipment the Wyandanch Schools could not find funding within their budget to replace all that was lost. The Booster Club that since Wyandanch was part of their SECTIONXI family they needed to help out, it was just the right thing to do. Losing any team that is a part of SECTIONXI is a loss to all. The Booster Club knew that with the cancellation of the upcoming Spring Track and Fall Football programs because of the fire many student athletes would be denied the ability to participate in those sports, which was not only important to the student athletes but to the school and the community as a whole. The Booster Club donation was in addition to other monies donated in Wyandanch’s behalf through the Booster Club, specifically Hampton Bays Youth Soccer, BAYMEN 5K Race and a couple anonymous donations. Happily and with great Baymen Pride the Booster Club presented the Wyandanch School Board a check for $2000 to help recoup costs for the return of their track and football programs. Their hope was  that this donation not only buys them what they need but more importantly lets them know that they are part of a bigger community that cares.  The Wyandanch School Board, Superintendent and all that were in attendance at the meeting were extremely grateful and thankful to all that donated.
