Hampton Bays Woman Seriously Injured In Suffolk Crash
A good Samaritan came to her aid before first responders arrived, police say.
HAMPTON BAYS, NY — A Hampton Bays woman was seriously injured in a Centereach crash Tuesday morning, police said.
According to Suffolk County police, the crash took place at 9:35 a.m. at Nicolls Road and Middle County Road when Mireya Siguenzazhinin, 21, who was driving north in a 2007 Subaru, crossed over the center median and struck the rear of a southbound tractor-trailer driven by Alex Lopez, 35, of Brentwood.
A good Samaritan rendered aid to Siguenzazhinin before first responders arrived. She was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries, police said. Lopez was not injured.

Motor carrier safety section officers inspected the trailer at the scene and the Subaru was impounded for a safety check, police said.
