HAMPTON BAYS, NY — A grand estate, "Shorebluff," featured in films including “Margot at the Wedding” and “The Forgotten," has sold for the highest price ever recorded in Hampton Bays — $5.7 million, according to Douglas Elliman.
The home was sold for over the asking price, and with multiple offers, according to the listing agent Todd Bourgard, executive manager of sales for Douglas Elliman's Hampton Bays, Westhampton Beach and Quogue offices, who also pointed out it was the "biggest sale ever he's ever tracked in Hampton Bays."
The buyer was not disclosed.

"I've been selling homes in the Hamptons for 20 years and this is one of the most spectacular waterfront properties I've ever seen," Bourgard said.
According to the listing for the property, the seven bed, three and one half bath home, located at 132 Newtown Road in Hampton Bays, was built circa 1897 and is a grand estate comprised of three structures and nine acres, inclusive of 225 ft. of Peconic Bay shoreline.

The home, with "remarkable details throughout the main house and guest cottage, features "unsurpassable views, extreme privacy and incredible opportunity." The compound, the listing said, "is truly a Hamptons landmark."
