Man Depleted Bank Accounts Of People With Disabilities: Police

The man, who worked at a residential home for people with disabilities, depleted some of their bank accounts, police say.

WESTHAMPTON, NY — A Westhampton man was arrested and charged with stealing from residents at a group home for individuals with disabilities, police said.

According to Southampton Town police, Sean Haynes, 32, was arrested by detectives on Thursday after an investigation, which spanned several months, into thefts from residents at an Independent Group Home Living facility.

He was charged with five counts of third degree grand larceny, two counts of fourth degree grand larceny, and one county of petty larceny, police said.

Haynes, a house manager, stole money from several residents’ accounts — depleting their bank accounts, police said.

With the cooperation of AHRC who assisted, the investigated Thursday in Haynes turning himself in at Southampton Town police headquarters, police said.

Haynes was

processed and the court requested Haynes be released on a field appearance ticket to be
arraigned at Southampton Town Justice Court on a later date, police said.
