Man Hits, Injures Pedestrian, Flees Scene: Police
A Riverhead man was charged with hitting a pedestrian in Hampton Bays and leaving the scene, police say.
HAMPTON BAYS, NY — A Riverhead man was arrested after he struck a pedestrian in Hampton Bays and fled the scene Sunday morning, police said.
Angel Oj Can, 38, was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident with injury and driving without a license, police said.
According to Southampton Town Police, at 9:56 a.m., a pedestrian was hit and injured on Montauk Highway in front of Shinnecock Hardware. The pedestrian gave a description and a police officer located the vehicle heading west on Montauk Highway with damage to the driver's side window, authorities said.

Oj Can was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released on an appearance ticket for a later date, police said.
