Police Present First-Ever Summer Youth Academies
The youth academies will offer insight into police training for kids at Hampton Bays High School and Remsenburg Elementary School.

SOUTHAMPTON, NY — For the first time, East End youth will be able to learn firsthand about what the life of a police officer actually entails.
Southampton Town Police are hosting the first-ever summer youth academies this summer, to be held in July. The Youth Academy is a week-long program focusing not just on training but also on laws that govern police, investigations, defensive tactics, and more. Youth will experience specialized units within policing, authorities said.
The first academy will be held at Hampton Bays High School on July 12 through 16; the second will be held at Remsenburg Elementary School from July 19 to July 23. Both sessions will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Thursday. On Fridays, the class will be held from 9 a.m. with a graduation ceremony at 5 p.m.
