Restauranteur Buys Yacht Designer's Hampton Bays Home

The waterfront property was completely renovated by an Italian super yacht designer.

HAMPTON BAYS, NY — A New York City restauranteur has closed on a gorgeous Hamptons home formerly owned by an Italian super yacht designer.

According to Douglas Elliman, 7 Nautilus Court closed on Nov. 6, purchased by Manhattan-based restaurateur and film producer, Vittorio Antonini.

The $1.799 million waterfront property had been completely renovated by architect and interior designer Maria Capoferri, founder of Capoferri Design; known for her work in luxury markets, including super-yacht design, the designer took what had been an undervalued space and transported it into an elegant and inviting environment, Douglas Elliman said.

Vittorio is the owner, chef and wine director for the Greenwich Village Italian favorite, La Lanterna di Vittorio, which opened in 1977. The MacDougal Street restaurant has earned the Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator magazine. Vittorio has also produced films including "Small Talk: Love, Coffee and the Internet," and "Islam and the "Future of Tolerance."

The listing for the property said that Capoferri "puts her chic style into this unique, one of kind, Hamptons waterfront beach house. With the elegance one might only see while aboard a super yacht, she masterfully transformed this average home into a stunning beach house with water views from every room.

"Designed to bring elements of the outdoors right into the living space by using the abundance of light that comes through the numerous glass windows and doors. Unobstructed views can be enjoyed due to Maria's use of glass railings on the deck with nautical style steps that lead down to the private beach and the dock slip," the listing said, adding that the home features SMART home technology. "A very special property that can be enjoyed all year long or just as a summer getaway."

The listing was represented by Joseph Savio and Enzo Morabito of Douglas Elliman.
