Search Ongoing 'Sunup To Sundown' For Missing Man In Hampton Bays
So far, there has been no trace of the man, missing since Sunday, police say.

HAMPTON BAYS, NY —Despite a desperate search of the Shinnecock Bay that continues from "sunup to sundown," there has been no sign of a missing man in Hampton Bays, police said.
According to Southampton Town Police, on Sunday at 6:38 p.m., a family member called and said that William Woodworth, 58, of Massapequa and Hampton Bays had left his residence and might be driving to his Hampton Bays home.
He might be suicidal, police said.

Woodworth's vehicle was located at the residence in Hampton Bays and there were indications that he had possibly entered the water close by, police said.
Woodworth is described as a 58-year-old white male, 6-feet, 2-inches tall, and 210 lbs., with hazel eyes and gray hair, police said.

Southampton police patrol units, the detective division, an unmanned aircraft unit, a New York State Police K-9 unit and quad, as well as Southampton Town bay constables, the U.S. Coast Guard, the Hampton Bays Fire Department, the Southampton Fire Department, Suffolk County Police's aviation unit and Sea Tow searched for three hours without finding Woodworth, police said.
A Silver Alert was also issued by Suffolk County.
Anyone who might see Woodworth is asked to contact Southampton Town Police immediately by dialing 911.
