BREAKING: The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement for the area.

The National Weather Service has issued the following special weather statement for the East End:

Areas of fog, locally dense, can be expected through the rest of this morning. Visibilities will remain under one mile, and less than a half mile in spots. When traveling, please exercise caution and be prepared for reduced visibilities.

East Hampton saw nearly an inch of rain Tuesday. About a half-inch fell in Westhampton with more rain in the forecast Wednesday.

Wednesday- Showers likely before noon, then a chance of drizzle or light rain after noon. Areas of dense fog. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 57. Northeast wind 8 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Wednesday Night- A chance of drizzle, mainly after 9pm. Areas of fog. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 52. Northeast wind 5 to 7 mph.

Thursday- Areas of fog before noon. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 63. Calm wind becoming southeast around 6 mph in the afternoon.

Thursday Night- A slight chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 55. Southeast wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Friday- A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 69. Southwest wind 5 to 8 mph.

Friday Night- Partly cloudy, with a low around 55.

Saturday- A 30 percent chance of showers after noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 71.

Saturday Night- Mostly cloudy, with a low around 52.

Sunday- Partly sunny, with a high near 58.
