Troopers arrest six for alcohol-related violations

The New York State Police from Riverhead made six alcohol-related arrests last week. Two of the arrests came from a sweep of Montauk stores selling alcohol to underage drinkers; three arrests were for drunk driving, and one arrest was for operating a boat while drunk.

On August 21, Carl Ferrarp, 63, of Brightwaters, was arrested for selling alcohol to a minor while working at Herbs Market on Montauk Highway in Montauk. He was charged and released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of East Hampton Court.

On August 22, Fernando Flores-Lazo, 34, of Montauk, was arrested for selling alcohol to a minor while working at Four Oaks Gourmet Deli on Flamingo Avenue, in Montauk. Flores-Lazo was arrested and released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of East Hampton Court at a later date.

On August 21, Douglas Jackson, 58, was arrested for drunk driving after he was stopped for failing to maintain his lane while driving on Ludlum Avenue in Riverhead. He was released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Southampton Court on August 27 at 9 a.m.

On August 22, Mason Napier, 63 was arrested for drunk driving after being stopped for traveling in the wrong direction on Route 39 in Southampton. He was arrested and released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Southampton Court on September 4 at 9 a.m.

On August 23, Edgar Luna, 28, was arrested for drunk driving after failing to stay in his lane while driving southbound on Route 24 in Hampton Bays. He was released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Southampton Court at a later dated.

On August 23, Amanda Hirsh, 52, of Huntington Station, was arrested for operating a boat while drunk. She was piloting the boat westbound on Shinnecock Bay, west of Ponquogue Bridge, during a joint operation between the State Police and the U.S. Coast Guard. The police boarded her boat and found she was drunk. She was arrested and released on an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Southampton Court at a later date.
