Thank You to All of My Supporters for Voting for Me

There is a Certain Honor in Trying and Losing and No Honor in Not Trying ...

It is my belief that there is a certain honor in trying and losing and there is no honor in not trying.

THANK YOU to all of my supporters for voting for me for Suffolk County Legislator! I also greatly appreciate your kind words of encouragement and expression of thanks for my past public service as Southampton Town Supervisor and Councilwoman.

It was a great run and I am glad to have had the honor and privilege to offer my candidacy and to offer voters a choice at the polls!

THANK YOU to all 8200+ voters that did cast their vote for me (even more after absentee ballots counted) - I greatly appreciate your support! Although I was not successful when the votes were tallied on Election Day November 5, I am proud of the vigorous campaign efforts to get out the vote and support the Candidate Team running in each town that comprises the South Fork! Southampton, East Hampton, Shelter Island, and the easternmost portion of Brookhaven - No Regrets - Love My Community!

To all of my supporters, my accept my sincerest thanks for your vote and for all those that volunteered to help me get our Good Government message out to the community. Whether you placed a sign on your front lawn, attended a fundraiser event or sent a campaign donation, helped to make phone calls, handed out literature, stuffed envelopes or just called to say "Good Luck, you've got my vote!" - please know that I greatly appreciate everything that was done to support my candidacy during the months and weeks leading up to Election Day!

I stepped up to this challenging race this year with courage and perseverance, I put forth best efforts to campaign on the issues important to our community and to Suffolk County's future.

Elections are not exciting unless there are choices and differences in viewpoints so that voters can choose who they believe best represents them in office. I want to applaud all the candidates for their stamina and courage to run for public office because it is not easy to put yourself out there and to endure the intensity of the schedule and all the political drama that comes with running a campaign. So, THANK YOU to all the candidates on the ballot this year for stepping up and offering your candidacy and a choice to the voters for this year's election.

Congratulations to those who have been elected to serve in local government - may they do so with honesty, integrity, and strength of character.

Linda Kabot
