Uber Eats Kicks Off In Hamptons

EAST END, NY — If you're hankering for a delivery from your favorite Hamptons eatery, don't despair — starting Thursday, May 31, Uber Eats will be expanding into parts of the Hamptons, offering food delivery with full menus from restaurants including Rumba, CowFish, the Southampton Publick House, Union Cantina and many more.

Uber Eats is Uber's stand-alone meal delivery app that makes getting food as easy as requesting a ride — whether at home, at the office, or at the beach, a release said.

From speciality local favorites to everyday national brands, Uber Eats offers a wide-selection of food options to hungry customers who can track their order, get an upfront delivery time, and use the same account they use to take rides, Uber said in the release.

"We are delighted to be expanding Uber Eats out East this summer. We've heard from Uber’s riders and eaters that they value our reliable, affordable, and speedy food delivery no matter where they are," said Jon Feldman, general manager of Uber Eats New York. "That's why we're doing our best to make Uber Eats accessible in as many locations as possible — and this summer, that includes many beaches and towns across Long Island."

Uber Eats, the release said, means a convenient and reliable way for people to get the food they love and also, provides new economic opportunities for delivery partners; and also, enables restaurants and chefs to connect with more customers.

Uber Eats is launching in the following areas of the Hamptons:

• Hampton Bays
• Shinnecock Hills
• Tuckahoe
• Southampton
• North Sea
• Water Mill

Prices are set by restaurant partners according to their own menus, and there will be a flat $9.99 booking fee for each order. The following restaurants are launching with Uber Eats Thursday. What follows is not an exhaustive list of all restaurant partners; instead, it's a cross section of those included in the launch:

• Oackland's Restaurant & Marina
• Centro Trattoria & Bar

Here's how to order:

1. Download the app or head to www.UberEats.com and login with your Uber account.
2. Pick delivery location: Input the address where you’d like your meal delivered.
3. Find the perfect meal: Browse from local restaurants to national brands or search by cuisine type.
4. Place your order: Pick the items you want immediately or schedule an order to arrive whenever it's most convenient.
5. Track the progress of the delivery: Get updates as your order is picked up and delivered to you.
