Westhampton Beach Hurricanes Named Long Island Champs
Go, 'Canes! The Westhampton Beach is jubilant as the Hurricanes win the Long Island football championship after an undefeated season!
WESTHAMPTON BEACH, NY — History was made Sunday as the Westhampton Beach High School football team, the Hurricanes, took home the Class III Long Island Championship.
After a score of 54 to 26 against Lawrence at a game held at Stony Brook University Sunday, the community celebrated with a victory parade down Main Street.
The team was undefeated this season.

Josh Bennett, whose nephew is on the team, and who is also a WHBHS grad, expressed his fierce pride. "They put in a lot of work to get to this point and they will have this memory for a lifetime," he said.
