Westhampton Beach Student Receives Scholar Athlete Award
The tennis player was recently named a News 12 Scholar Athlete.

Westhampton Beach High School senior Laura Halsey has recently been named a News 12 Scholar Athlete.
She received the honor because of her athletic and academic achievements, extracurricular activities and leadership qualities.
Halsey, a varsity tennis player since eighth-grade, was nominated for the honor by the high school.

“I was really surprised and happy,” said Halsey, in addition to playing tennis, is co-president of her school’s Interact Club and is her class secretary.
Halsey is an AP Scholar with Distinction and was named a National Merit Commended Student.
