Westhampton Beach Students Start Campaign to Raise $5,000 For Cookies For Cancer

The juniors hope to complete their goal before they graduate.

Two Westhampton Beach High School students recently started a campaign to raise $5,000 before they graduate for the Cookies for Cancer organization, which benefits children with cancer.

As part of their effort, juniors Sammy Tiska and Yesha Dalao asked the middle school students to bake and sell 100 sugar cookies and Snickerdoodles.

The bake sale helped to raise $130 towards the cause.

That money will be added to the nearly $2,000 in funds the girls have already collected through a trunk show, an online fundraiser and an event hosted at the East Quogue Elementary School.

“We really want to give back and do our part,” Tiska said, adding that they have plans for additional fundraisers.
