Woman Crashes Into Business, Charged With DWI: Police

She was driving while intoxicated when she crashed into a Long Island business Sunday, police say.

HAMPTON BAYS, NY— A Hampton Bays woman was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated after she crashed her car into a business Sunday, police said.

According to Southampton Town Police, at 2:03 p.m., a call came in about a vehicle that had crashed into the South Fork Realty building in Hampton Bays. Maria Palacios, 27, who was driving an unregistered 2015 Ford Fusion, crashed into the corner of the commercial building, police said.

She was found arrested and charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, as well as with driving an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle without a license, police said.

She was released and appear at Southampton Town Justice Court at a later date, police said.

Hampton Bays Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded to check on Palacios, who was uninjured in the crash and Southampton town fire marshals responded to inspect the building for structural damage, police said.
