Man Struck, Killed by SUV in Central Islip
Police are attempting to identify the man who was hit Sunday night.

Police are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian in Central Islip Sunday night.
Police say a 39-year-old Brentwood man was driving a 2003 Acura MDX north on Route 111 when the SUV struck a pedestrian who was crossing Route 111 north of Olive Street at about 10:10 p.m.
The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified, was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where he was pronounced dead. He is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 30-years-old, 5-foot-1 and between 165 and 170 pounds.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety inspection. The investigation is continuing. No criminal charges have been filed.
