All Star Chef Line Up Will Cook for Meals on Wheels Benefit

2nd Annual Cornucopia to Benefit Meals on Wheels Features All Star Chef Line Up

On Monday, November 4th Meals on Wheels will host the 2nd Annual Cornucopia fundraiser which features top chefs from around the Hudson Valley preparing an intimate dinner party for their own table of 12 guests. Each table will have its own exclusive experience as they get to know the chef, hear his or her cooking tips, and taste a one of a kind meal prepared especially for them. The event will take place at Edgewood Country Club at 449 Rivervale Road in River Vale, New Jersey from 6:00pm – 10:00pm.

Some of the unusual characteristics of this event include the fact that the chefs will be preparing and finishing their entrees in front of guests tableside; the need for guests to register early in order to choose the chef they wish to dine with; and the production of a keepsake cookbook/journal where many recipes from the chefs will be included.

In addition, new this year the students from the Rockland Community College Hospitality and Culinary Arts School under the auspices of Chef and Department Chair Chris Spezial, will prepare and serve all the appetizers during cocktail hour. Actor Kevin Kilner will return as the Emcee for the event.

Three people will be honored for their dedication to Meals on Wheels; Mrs. Shelly Berger who founded Meals on Wheels 45 years ago, Dr. Donald Hammond, Former CEO & President of Meals on Wheels, and Dr. Mark Geller and Montefiore Nyack Hospital.

Tickets are $225 and individuals will have an opportunity to select the chef they want to dine with based on the date and time they submit their reservation. The mission of Meals on Wheels is to enhance the wellness of Rockland's older adults and their families by providing services that support their safety, independence and health. Meals on Wheels believes that every older adult in Rockland should be given the opportunity to live their life to the fullest. Meals on Wheels programs are funded in part by the Administration on Aging, New York State Office for the Aging, Rockland County Office for the Aging, donations, grants and fees.
