Luncheon to Honor Former Planned Parenthood Leader

The lawyer who successfully argued the landmark Roe vs. Wade case in the Supreme Court will give the keynote address Oct. 18 at Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic’s annual Empower benefit.

The breakfast event, which recognizes deserving community leaders each year, will honor Francine "Frankie" Stein, former PPHP President/CEO and a White Plains resident.

Sarah Weddington, who represented “Jane Roe” as a 26-year-old lawyer in 1972, was also elected to the Texas House of Representatives, served as an assistant to President Jimmy Carter, and was featured in TIME magazine for her work on Roe v. Wade.
