Youth Basketball Tryouts Start Next Week

The City of White Plains Recreation and Parks Department invites boys and girls in 5th to 8th grades to try out for our competitive travel basketball program.

All those interested in participating on the team must attendat least one tryout in order to be considered. A recreation supervisor and coaches will evaluate prospective players and teams will be selected based on player assessments and team needs.

In addition, players interested in trying out are invited to join the coaches for a free basketball skills and drills workout the week before.

In order to participate in the tryout for the travel basketball team or free basketball skills and drills workout, participants must pre-register at the Recreation and Parks Department. There is no cost to try-out.

Basketball Skills & Drills Workout at George Washington Elementary School, 100 Orchard Street

• Boys 5th/6th grade - Thursday, Oct. 11, 6pm-7:30 p.m.
• Boys 7th/8th grade – Thursday, Oct. 11, 7:30 p.m. - 9 p.m.

Travel Basketball Try-Outs at George Washington Elementary School, 100 Orchard Street

• Girls – 5th/6th grade - Tuesday, Oct. 16 and Wednesday, Oct. 17, 6:30 - 8 p.m.
• Girls – 7th /8th grade – Tuesday, Oct. 16 and Wednesday Oct. 17th, 8pm – 9:30 p.m.
• Boys – 5th/6th grade - Thursday, Oct. 18 and Friday, Oct. 19, 6:30 - 8 p.m..
• Boys -7th/8th grade - Thursday, Oct. 18 and Friday, Oct. 19, 8pm – 9:30 p.m.
