Animal Sleepover at the White Plains Library; ArtsWestchester Hosts Free Showing of "Prince Among Slaves"

- The White Plains Library is hosting a stuffed animal sleepover Friday night in The Trove. Children will be able to enjoy a bedtime story and tuck the animals in for the night. After the children go home, the animal friends will have fun exploring the library. Children can return on Saturday at 2 p.m. to pick their animals up and enjoy a light brunch and slide show of all the overnight adventures. For children ages 4-8. Pre-registration required.
- ArtsWestchester is hosting a free viewing of the film "Prince Among Slaves" and the exhibition “Forgotten Roots: African American Muslims in Early America Saturday through Wednesday. The exhibition hall will be open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and the movie will be show at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. There will be a special exhibition tour by Amir Muhammad on Saturday and Sunday at 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.; and Monday through Wednesday at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.
- The YWCA White Plains & Central Westchester is hosting an open house for its kindergarten program from noon to 1 p.m. The YWCA is located at 515 North St., in White Plains.
- The White Plains Library is hosting a showing of the Dreamworks movie “The Croods” Sunday from 2 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. during its “TROVE @ the Movies” program. The Croods" is a prehistoric comedy adventure that follows the world's first family as they embark on the journey of a lifetime when the cave that has always shielded them from danger is destroyed. Traveling across a spectacular landscape, the Croods discover an incredible new world filled with fantastic creatures, and their outlook is changed forever.
