BCW Issues Westchester Economic Recovery Task Force Report
Industry Experts Issue Comprehensive List of Strategies and Recommendations to Assist in Reemergence of County's Economy from the Pandemic

RYE BROOK, NY (June 1, 2020) – In a major economic development initiative, the Business Council of Westchester today issued the Westchester Economic Recovery Task Force Report, a comprehensive list of strategies and recommendations to assist the State and County in the reemergence of Westchester’s economy from the pandemic. Copies of the 14-page report were delivered to Governor Andrew Cuomo and Westchester County Executive George Latimer.
The report offers recommendations from the 46 members of the BCW Westchester Economic Recovery Task Force who represent a wide range of industry sectors in the county including: Arts, Biotech, Energy/Environment; Entertainment, Hospitality, Transportation, Finance, Healthcare, Higher Education, Municipalities, Not-for-Profits, Professional Services, Real Estate Brokerage and Construction, Retail and Small Business. The report, which is the first of several to be prepared by the Task Force, is available online at thebcw.org
“As Westchester County begins its ‘reopening’ Phase 1 process, the BCW Westchester Economic Recovery Task Force will continue to meet and look to identify strategies and systems that will assist businesses over these next few months. We will continue to provide the Cuomo and Latimer administrations with recommendations that hopefully will be of help to their longterm plans,” said BCW President and CEO Marsha Gordon.

“This significant and timely report is another example of the BCW being on the forefront of today’s vitally important economic development issues. We commend our Task Force members for their valuable expertise and insight that will help guide Westchester’s successful reemergence from this terrible pandemic,” she added.
The BCW announced the formation of the BCW Westchester Economic Recovery Task Force on April 24. The Task Force brings together business leaders from across all sectors of Westchester’s economy to develop strategies and recommendations get the county’s economy up and running as soon as possible. “The BCW Westchester Economic Recovery Task Force looks forward to working together and in coordination with our leaders in State and County government to formulate a multifaceted action plan for the reemergence our county’s economy,” Gordon said.
