Clark William Douglass Dies At 53

The White Plains resident was a 9/11 first responder.

WHITE PLAINS, NY — A 9/11 first responder and former White Plains Fire Department lieutenant died at the age of 53. Clark William Douglass died July 21. He had recently retired from the fire department after serving more than 30 years.

Previously, Douglass volunteered for the North White Plains Fire Department and was co-owner of a pizzeria in Katonah.

He was married to JoAnn Sherman in 1999 and they had three children: Jordan, Clark and Ethan.

Douglass is also survived by his parents Joan and Patricia Douglass, his siblings Mary (Michael) Reiser, Sharon Douglass, John (Deborah) Douglass, Colleen (Michael) Zanicchi and Robert (Sharon) Douglass, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 26 at McMahon, Lyon & Hartnett Funeral Home Ic., 491 Mamaroneck Ave. in White Plains.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 27 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 92 South Lexington Ave. in White Plains.

Interment will take place at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 575 Hillside Ave. in White Plains.

His family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the American Cancer Society.
