With Mother's Day on the Horizon, Creative Flowers Bustles

Catherine Amodio, utterly occupied with Mother's Day so close on the horizon, was bustling about Creative Flowers on Mamaroneck Avenue with gusto this Friday afternoon

It's one of the shop's busiest times of year, Amodio said, with bunches of roses and pianese being snapped up swiftly. The shop is nestled in a quaint, brick cottage on the city's downtown outskirts.

As for the ideal to bouquet to buy mom, Amodio says there's no right answer.

"Each mother has her own preference," she said. "A different color, a different fragrance."

The shop will be open Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. When, as usual, plenty of last-minute sons, daughters and fathers will whirl through the doors, Amodio said.
