Crowne Plaza Rebranded Sonesta White Plains Downtown

Company officials said all current employees transitioned to the Sonesta brand.

WHITE PLAINS, NY — The Crowne Plaza White Plains Downtown has been renamed Sonesta White Plains Downtown following a transfer of management to Sonesta international Hotel's Corporation.

The move was effective Tuesday and was part of a transaction with Service Properties Trust to transfer the branding and management of 103 hotels to Sonesta from InterContinental Hotels Group.

Monika Henry, Crowne Plaza White Plains Downtown's general manager, said the hotel will continue to be a staple in the community as a Sonesta property.

She said all current employees transitioned to the Sonesta brand and were ready to welcome guests on Tuesday.

"Our guests will have the opportunity to experience the 'wow' service the brand offers," Henry said.

Sonesta White Plains Downtown, at 66 Hale Ave. in White Plains, has 17,000 square feet of flexible function space, an award-winning culinary team, event planners and 402 guest rooms, according to a spokesperson.

It recently renovate its main public spaces, including the lobby, restaurant/lounge area and new collaborative meeting spaces.
