Democratic Primary For Westchester County Clerk Undecided
As of 11 p.m. Tuesday, Shanae Williams was leading incumbent Timothy Idoni by a couple of percentage points.

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — Voters throughout Westchester County went to the polls Tuesday to pick the Democratic candidate for county clerk who will appear on the November ballot.
Incumbent Timothy Idoni was being challenged by Shanae Williams.
At 11 p.m., with 77 percent of the vote reporting, Williams was leading Idoni, according to unofficial results from the Westchester County Board of Elections.

Williams had 51 percent of the vote, and Idoni had 49 percent.
Williams is a councilwoman for Yonkers 1st District. She immigrated to the United States with her family when she was 9. She is a graduate of Yonkers Public Schools and Hastings High School and has a master's degree in business administration from Walden University.

Idoni has been the Westchester county clerk since 2006. He also served as New Rochelle mayor from 1996 to 2005 and Ardsley village manager from 1985 to 1990. He has a master's degree in public administration from New York University and was granted an honorary doctorate from Iona College.
