Castelli Holds Small Business Workshop in White Plains

Assemblyman Robert J. Castelli (R, C – Goldens Bridge) is helping to promote a  small business outreach initiatives sponsored by the Mid-Hudson Regional Economic Development Council.

These events are a part of a State wide effort created by Governor Cuomo to help small businesses.  

The first Small Business Outreach Initiative will take place on Thursday, June 28th at the on 123 Main Street in White Plains, at 6:30 p.m., which is located in the 89th Assembly District.

During the event, local business owners and future entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to speak with representatives from:

• Department of Labor
• Department of Taxation and Finance
• State Liquor Authority
• Workers’ Compensation Board
• Empire State Development

 

to help them navigate through state regulations and discover programs that offer grants and other pro-business incentives.  

“This event will help reduce burdensome red tape for our small businesses while providing helpful information, which could help them grow and flourish, even in today’s tough economic times,” Castelli said. “It can be difficult for hard-working business owners to access all the necessary information needed, and this event will provide a place for them to come together and receive it in a comprehensive manner.”

On June 25th, at 7:00 p.m., the Council will host also host a workshop on the Consolidated Funding Application, at Marist College, where attendees can learn about the different agency resources involved in the Consolidated Funding Application.

Participants at the workshop will also have the opportunity to ask specific questions pertaining to their projects to agency representatives.

Castelli noted that these programs are conducted to help small business owners start and grow their businesses in the state.

After a presentation from the various personnel, business owners will have the opportunity to ask questions.

“This event will provide important access to what too often feels like an impenetrable wall of government bureaucracy,” Castelli said. “Your question is important because the answer may help you and other local business owners become more successful in your initiatives, which will lead to economic growth and more jobs for New Yorkers.”
