Family, Fans Hold Vigil For DMX Outside White Plains Hospital
The rapper suffered a heart attack Friday night and is on life support.

WHITE PLAINS, NY — Family, friends and fans have gathered outside White Plains Hospital Monday afternoon for a vigil as rapper DMX fights for his life after a heart attack Saturday.
The rapper, whose real name is Earl Simmons, is on life support at the hospital, according to his long-time lawyer Murray Richman, the Journal News reported.
DMX overdosed at his home around 11 p.m. Friday.

He was born in Mount Vernon and began rapping in the early 1990s.
DMX has faced a series of legal, criminal and personal issues over the years, including tax fraud and drug use.

LeBron James, posting on Twitter. said DMX was one of his favorite artists when he was growing up. He added that his prayers were with him and "sent to the almighty heaven's above."
