Galleria At White Plains Reopens For Curbside Pick-up

WHITE PLAINS, NY — The Galleria at White Plains reopened Thursday for merchandise pick up under the first phase of Westchester County's gradual reopening of businesses. The Galleria converted a loading bay near the Sear's store into a safe, off-street merchandise pick-up site which will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

Officials said there will be dedicated, sheltered parking spots for customers. Signage on Main Street will direct customers to the pick-up site.

Shoppers will place their orders with retailers online or by phone and pay for their purchases in advance.

Ty Peterson, the Galleria's marketing and business development manager, said the mall places the safety of customers and retail staff above all other considerations.

"Our off-street merchandise pick-up site is safe, protected from the elements and it allows the public to maintain proper social distance while collecting their purchases," she said.

As retailers confirm participation, their businesses will be added to the curbside pick-up page on the Galleria at White Plains' website.

The mall is also offering people in White Plains a way to get some exercise, since health clubs remains closed under New York State on Pause rules, by suggesting that they walk or run around the Galleria at White Plains five times, which is the equivalent of 5 kilometers.

Officials said to start at the Galleria 5K sign posted at the Main Street garage entrance near Macy's and begin walking or running. One kilometer is the equivalent of walking or jogging around the mall once on public sidewalks from Court Street to Main Street, S. Lexington Avenue and Martine Avenue.

They suggest that friends can walk or jog together as long as proper social distancing is maintained.

The Galleria at White Plains is located at 100 Main St. in White Plains.
