Since 1926, the team has been playing exhibition basketball games, and showing fans what you can do with just a ball and a basket. First named the Savoy Big Five after the Savoy Ballroom in Chicago, they became the Harlem Globetrotters in 1928, although, it wouldn’t be until 1968 that they made it to the court in Harlem.
