Local Restaurant's Fondue Fundraiser to Help Charity

The Melting Pot of White Plains will host two fundraisers benefiting Westhab, the county's largest supporter of housing and supportive services for homeless of low-income people.

A White Plains restaurant is using fondue to help support charity.

The Melting Pot at 30 Mamaroneck Ave. is hosting a dining and bar event this month to benefit Westhab, a charity that supports low-income and homeless people. A portion of proceeds from dinner orders on Oct. 19 and a bar event on Oct. 26 will be donated to Westhab.

Patrons of the fondue destination can also present a special Westhab voucher during any October visit to have 10 percent of their dining check donated to Westhab.

“We are excited to be partnering with The Melting Pot of White Plains on this charitable giving campaign,” Westhab’s Program Developer John Parssinen said in a statement. “Here’s a FUN-Do way to help us to continue providing much needed, quality services to a growing group of Westchester’s homeless and low-income families.”

The Melting Pot is also offering several specials this month. Patrons will have the opportunity to meet with The Melting Pot's staff during both the dining and bar event.

“By dining at The Melting Pot of White Plains during the month of October, you can enjoy a delicious fondue meal while knowing that you are helping your community since a generous portion of the restaurant proceeds will be donated to Westhab,” said Kathy Longo, General Manager of The Melting Pot of White Plains.

Anyone who wishes to participate is asked to print out a special Westhab voucher and present it to his or her server before ordering a meal.
