Lower Hudson Transit Link Subject Of Open Houses

The Open Houses will be held in White Plains and West Nyack.

WHITE PLAINS, NY — The New York State Department of Transportation will host its fourth round of Open House events for the Lower Hudson Transit Link program. Earlier open houses featured information on capital improvements such as new bus shelters and intersection improvements, as well as information on the Integrated Corridor Management elements designed to improve traffic flow on I-287 and other key roads in Rockland and Westchester counties. The LHTL project aims to improve reliability and safety for travelers, improve the availability, accessibility and quality of transit services in the Lower Hudson Valley and reduce travel times along the I-287 corridor.

This final open house, which will be held in White Plains and West Nyack, is focused on the new transit service, and includes details on the new vehicles, passenger amenities on buses and at stations, the route structure and infrastructure investments that will improve transit performance such as Transit Signal Priority and the dedicated bus lanes on the new Governor Mario M. Cuomo Bridge.

Two Open House events are scheduled. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the project from NYSDOT staff and the LHLT project team. The public is encouraged to drop in anytime during an Open House at the most convenient location and date, as the format and materials on display will be the same:
