The holidays are in full bloom at Martine Center on Tibbits Avenue as residents got together with staff on December 11 to create some of the best ugly holiday sweaters in all of Westchester County. These sweaters will all be part of a contest at the Center taking place at 2pm on December 19 and Recreation Director Alisha Nathaniel can't wait to see which sweater will be the nicest and ugliest.

"Our residents are so creative and they are all in the holiday spirit right now," said Nathaniel. "My staff are there with them giving them some pointers but they are doing this themselves. Sometimes it's like they have experience with sweater making."

Nearly twenty residents got involved with this year's ugly sweater making and the Martine Center has much going on this holiday season, including a breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus on December 21 and a Chanukah special with the Rabbi where potato latkes will be served along with along the Chanukah story on December 27.
