Music Conservatory Opens Performathon 2019 Raffle to Public

Music Conservatory of Westchester's Annual Performathon Fundraiser Raffle Features Exciting High-End Items from Tech to Sports Tickets

To commemorate the Music Conservatory of Westchester’s 90th anniversary, the nonprofit community music school’s annual Performathon fundraiser on Saturday, December 7th will honor its history and compose the future of music.

Performathon is an all-day event featuring 13 hours of student performances, family-friendly activities, and raffle to help support the school’s Legacy Project – building new digital technology teaching spaces, including a new Percussion Studio, Digital Piano Lab, Recording Studio, additional Music Therapy Studio, and a multi-use Rehearsal Studio.

For more than 15 years, the Music Conservatory of Westchester has held this event as a fun way to get its student community involved in raising funds for the school’s mission-specific programs, such as its Scholarship Program, Music Therapy Program for children and adults with disabilities, and Healing Our Heroes music therapy program for U.S. military veterans.

On the day of Performathon, the Conservatory’s lobby is transformed into a fun, creative space for students and families to enjoy and participate in the school’s raffle, with crafts and games, a photo booth, and a variety of donated food, either homemade by families or from local restaurants. It takes a community effort to organize Performathon and ensure a successful outcome. The entire Conservatory community gets involved including parent and student volunteers, local vendors and food establishments, donors and sponsors, and the Conservatory’s faculty and staff.

To raise funds this year, the Conservatory is holding a raffle with exciting prizes to include tickets to New York Rangers and New York Knicks games at Madison Square Garden, as well as high value items donated from P.C. Richard & Son, such as a 55’’ Samsung LED Ultra HD 4K Smart TV and two Nintendo Switch game consoles. This is P.C. Richard & Son Builders Division’s 4th consecutive year supporting the Conservatory’s Performathon. The raffle is currently open with the drawing on Saturday, December 14th. Student performance is the centerpiece of the day. Students of all ages will take the stage in the Conservatory’s Helen Demetrios and Michael Stadther Recital Hall to perform on a variety of instruments and styles of music. Classical, jazz, rock, pop, and musical theatre will be represented at Performathon as students proudly play for their family and friends.

Join the Music Conservatory of Westchester on Saturday, December 7th to celebrate its 90th anniversary at Performathon 2019!
