Music Conservatory of Westchester College Prep Program Roundtable

Musicians of New York Philharmonic, Metropolitan Opera, and Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center to Speak about MCW Prep in Q&A

Music Conservatory of Westchester (MCW) is preparing talented high school music students for college studies and future careers in music, in its MCW Prep Program launched in September, 2019. On Monday, August 17, 2020 at 6pm, the esteemed faculty of the Conservatory’s MCW Prep program will speak in a roundtable discussion and will be answering questions from prospective students and their parents. The conversation and Q&A will be recorded and shared on the Music Conservatory’s Facebook page and YouTube channel. Students are selected by audition to enroll in an intensive program of private lessons with an MCW Prep teacher, as well as chamber music, orchestra, theory, master classes, performance, audition preparation, and college advisement. As soloists and in ensembles with their talented peers, students will channel their musical aspirations to prepare for college studies and future careers.

The Music Conservatory of Westchester was founded in 1929 by a group of community members and renowned artists. Today, the Conservatory provides the extraordinary benefits of music to all in our community, from absolute beginners to advanced artists, with one-on-one virtual and in-person instruction, performing ensembles, theory, composition, early childhood classes, lifelong learning for adults, and free community performances, serving 3,000 students each year from 4 months to over 80 years old. As a not-for-profit organization, the Conservatory is dedicated to serving the community and reaching out to those who would not otherwise have access. Our Scholarship Program provides tuition assistance for financially deserving students. The Music Therapy Institute brings music into the lives of 2,000 children and adults with disabilities each year through on-site and outreach programs.
