Regus Opens Westchester Ave. Business Center
Located at 777 Westchester Ave., the new center will offer flexibility for small and startup businesses.

A global workplace provider has cut the tape on a new office facility with hopes of boosting opportunities and flexibility for local businesses in White Plains.
Regus, a flexible workplace provider, unveiled the new 14,000 sq. ft. facility Wednesday. The 55 offices vary in size and offer flexible leases and affordable space, perfect for small or startup companies still finding their way in the local business landscape.
While other properties in commercial office parks often require leases running for up to 10 years, Regus offers minimums as short as three months, explained Jan Peter, a Regus director for Westchester and Connecticut. Peter added that flexibility removes some of the fears small business owners might feel while still perfecting their business model.

The recently renovated facility opened at 777 Westchester Ave. on Aug. 6 and is already near 50 percent occupancy. Of the 25 tenants there now, about a quarter are startups, Peter said.

This is good news for White Plains Mayor Thomas Roach, who attended Wednesday's ceremony.
"As these startups grow and they decide they need to move on and take their own office space and hopefully they do well, they'll have recognized how important it is to be in White Plains and they'll stay in our community," Roach said. "I think this really works for everybody involved and I'm really excited about the opening."
The facility offers a variety of office spaces. Rent prices range from approximately $600 to $2,000 per month.
Included in that cost is the maintenance of the office space. Regus facilities have common lounge areas allowing companies to share ideas, and not worry about filling coffee machines and cleaning.
"They should concentrate on the core business," said Peter. "We take care of everything else."
