A spat between a motorist and pedestrian on Martine Avenue in downtown White Plains last Friday led to one man leaving in handcuffs, police said.
A man stopped at the Martine/Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd intersection began arguing with a pedestrian at 1 p.m. after the walker accused the driver of trying to hit him with the car, cops told Patch. Â
The motorist had the green light and right-of-way, police said. Â
When the driver stopped his car, the pedestrians—a 51-year-old Pelham man—punched the vehicle, a BMW, causing $300 worth of damage to the back of the rear quarter panel. Â
Police arrested the Pelham man and charged him with criminal mischief in the fourth degree, a misdemeanor.
