Smoky Apartment Closes Portion of S. Lexington

A smoke incident in a White Plains apartment building Monday afternoon closed off a block of South Lexington—from Quarropas to East Post Road—at 3:30 p.m.

A pot left too-long on a stove top at 135 South Lexington, a high-rise residential building, gave way to smokey conditions, fire authorities told Patch. There were no injuries.

One hook-and-ladder truck and two White Plains police squad cars responded to the incident.
