
Government offices are closed today and there will be no mail delivery from the U.S. Postal Service.There will be no garbage collection in White Plains Thursday.
The White Plains Library will be closed Thursday and the school district will be closed the rest of the week.
Metro North is running extra trains for Thanksgiving and Black Friday. Check their schedule here. Many businesses will be closed Thursday, but don't worry. If you have last minute food purchases to make—you know, you forgot to get cranberry sauce—ShopRite and Stop & Shops will be open until 5 p.m., while Whole Foods will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
If you have a favorite restaurant—and don't feel like cooking Thanksgiving dinner—it would be best to call ahead and see if it is open. A number of restaurants like Butterfield 8, the Crowne Plaza Hotel White Plains, Morton’s Steakhouse and BLT Steak White Plains will be open.
