Thief Caught Swiping 17 Bags of M&Ms: Cops

White Plains police nabbed a shoplifter with an apparent sweet tooth last Thursday, cops said, after catching a Bronx woman whole stole 17 bags of peanut M&Ms from the CVS at 24 Mamaroneck Ave.

Employees at the pharmacy watched the woman, a 37-year-old Valhalla resident, pluck the candy off the display at about 11 p.m., and then stash them in her handbag, according to reports.  

Workers phoned police, who soon after arrested the woman and charged her with petty larceny, a misdemeanor.  

The stolen M&Ms amounted to $57.72, police said.
