Weekend: Help Create Monumental Artwork

Kick off the New Year this weekend with creative collaboration on something beautiful for the whole community! No sewing experience needed.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — Help create a huge textile artwork. By the time it's done, May 2020, many hands will have contributed to the work.

Between now and May 2020, textile artist Amanda Browder will design and fabricate "Metropolis Sunrise," a colorful, quilt-like sculpture, with help from volunteers around the region. Once complete, the sculpture will be draped from the top of ArtsWestchester's historic 9-story building in downtown White Plains.

How about joining a public sewing day to help create this work of art? No sewing experience is needed. There's a task for everyone! Try Saturday and/or Sunday in White Plains.
