White Plains Officially Opens Tennis Bubble Wednesday
Tennis Innovators Academy signed a 10-year lease with the city to operate the courts, and will pay White Plains $100,000 annually.

A bubble enclosure holding six indoor tennis courts at Delfino Park in White Plains will officially open Wednesday during a ceremony with Mayor Thomas Roach and others.
Tennis Innovators Academy signed a 10-year lease with the city to operate the courts, and will pay White Plains $100,000 annually. TIA will charge fees to use the courts, but White Plains residents will receive a 15 percent discount.
Additionally, TIA is refurbishing a couple of other courts at the park, bringing the total number of courts to eight.

Wednesday’s event not only will be attended by Mayor Roach, but also Parks and Recreation officials and representatives from TIA. Children from the White Plains Youth Bureau after-school program also will be receiving a free tennis lesson on opening day.
The dedication ceremony is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. at the facility, 110 Lake St. in White Plains.
