An employee at the 24 Mamaroneck Ave. CVS had a credit card stolen out of her wallet while at work, police said – and the thief used the plastic to shop at Wendy’s almost immediately afterward.
The victim showed police video footage on Thursday of a woman entering the CVS staff room and stealing her wallet, which held a Chase Bank card, according to reports.
A short time later, the victim's bank told her the card had been used at 2:58 p.m. – five minutes after the theft – at a nearby Wendy’s, according to police blotter.
Cops and the victim traveled to Wendy’s, where they were able to pinpoint the thief, police said. The pickpocket, a 21-year-old Yonkers resident, admitted to the crime.
Police also learned she was carrying illegal prescription medicine, authorities told Patch.
The Yonkers woman was charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree and criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree, both felonies, and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a misdemeanor.
