100s Of Apartments Hit Affordable Housing Lottery In North BK
Apartments for those making anywhere from $0 a year to $97,000 a year are up for grabs in Greenpoint, Bushwick, Bed-Stuy and East New York.

BROOKLYN, NY — Hundreds of apartments will be up for grabs on the affordable housing lottery in North Brooklyn neighborhoods this month.
Almost a dozen buildings in Bed-Stuy, East New York, Greenpoint, Bushwick and Brownsville either are open or will be open to affordable housing applications going into the New Year.
And while many are barred to those making at least $70,000 or more each year, some cheaper options are also up for grabs, including some that have no minimum salary requirement at all.

Here is Patch's round-up of apartments that are or will become available in the northern half of the borough:
Bed-Stuy

1134 Fulton St. — 55 apartments are available in this building, including studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom spots. Applications began on Dec. 2 and will be open until Feb. 6.
Some of the studio, one-bedroom and three-bedroom units will go to those making 80 percent of the area median income, or at least $46,903 a year for the studio, $49,989 for the one-bedroom and $68,503 for the three-bedroom.
The other studios, one-bedrooms and the two-bedroom options will go to those making 130 percent of the area median income, or at least $68,538 for the studios, $72,858 for the one-bedrooms and $82,286 for the two-bedrooms.
625 and 625A Halsey St. — Six apartments are available in this building, including four one-bedrooms and two, two-bedrooms. Applications began on Dec. 23 and will be open until Jan. 15.
They will go to those that make 130 percent of the area median income, or at least $74,332 a year for the one-bedroom and $90,446 per year for the two-bedrooms.
Greenpoint
215 Freeman St. — An unspecified number of one or two-bedroom apartments are available in this buildings. The wait-list opened Dec. 19 and will stay open until Jan. 23.
The apartments will go to those that make at least $77,829 per year for the one-bedroom and at least $93,703 per year for the two-bedroom.
144-146 West St. — Seven apartments are available in this building. Applications opened Dec. 4 and will stay open until Dec. 26.
Two one-bedroom and two, two-bedroom spots will go to those making 80 percent the area median income, or at least $40,423 per year for the one-bedroom or $48,172 per year for the two-bedroom. Another two, two-bedroom spots will go to those making 130 percent of the area median income, or at least $76,806 per year.
East New York
315 Linwood St. — There are 69 apartments available in this building, where applications opened on Dec. 6 and will close Feb. 11.
Most of the apartments will go to those making 60 percent of the area median income, or $31,303 a year for a studio, $39,086 per year for the one-bedroom, $46,938 a year for the two bedroom and $54,206 for the three-bedroom. A portion of the other two or three bedroom units available will go to those that qualify for Section 8 housing and have no minimum salary requirement. Two one-bedroom spots will go to those making at least $32,229 a year.
Brownsville
212 Hegeman Ave. — There are 20 apartments available in this building. The applications opened on Dec. 5 and will stay open until Feb. 10.
Four of the studio apartments will go to those making at least$21,978 per year and the rest require at least a $26,640 salary.
19 Malta St. — Two apartments are available in this building for those making 130 percent of the area median income. Applications opened Dec. 6 and will stay open until Dec. 30.
Applicants should make at least $54,858 per year for the one-bedroom spots and at least $61,715 per year for the two-bedroom spots.
Bushwick
114 Jefferson St. — There are three apartments available in this building. Applications opened on Dec. 23 and will stay open until Jan. 15.
Applicants who want one of the one-bedrooms should make at least $70,252 per year.
31-33 Troutman St. — There are six apartments available in this building. Applications opened Dec. 9 and will stay open until Dec. 31.
The six one-bedroom spots will go to those that make at least $68,229 a year.
100 Suydam St. — There are three apartments available in this building. Applications are open until Dec. 26.
The one-bedroom spot will go to those making at least $75,429 per year and the two, two-bedroom spots will go to those that make at least an $89,143 salary.
