102 Affordable Greenpoint Apartments Now Available at 5 Blue Slip
Greenpoint Landing's newest development began taking applications on Friday.

GREENPOINT, BROOKLYN — Applications are now being accepted from low-income New Yorkers interested in living at 5 Blue Slip, Greenpoint's newest development of studio, one- and two-bedroom units. The building, near the East River and Newtown Creek, offers 102 units with amenities including a laundry room, bicycle room, fitness room and landscaped community courtyard.
Area residents, particularly those who live within Community Board 1, can apply until Dec. 29 for the portion of units that have been allocated for low-income New Yorkers and will feature below-market rents. Fifty percent of units are reserved for residents of Community Board 1.
Studios can be rented for as low as $368 per month while two-bedrooms are as low as $482. The majority of units (62) are reserved for residents making 60 percent of area median income.

Those interested can submit an application through the city's Housing Connect website, where there is more information available about the new development.
The building is part of a new, larger development that is slated to eventually offer up to 5,000 new housing units, according to Curbed.
