$72K Salary Needed For 'Affordable' Williamsburg Apartments
New apartments on Stagg Street that hit the affordable housing lottery are up for grabs for at least $2,000 a month.

EAST WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN — A group of new apartments in East Williamsburg have hit the affordable housing lottery, but only for those making at least $71,589 per year.
The six apartments are up for grabs in a new building at 236 Stagg St., including three one-bedroom and three two-bedroom spots.
The one-bedroom spots will go to those that make at least $71,589 per year, with a maximum salary set at $97,110 for one person or a combined $111,020 or $124,930 should two or three people be applying, respectively. These units will go for $2,089 per month each.

Those applying for the two-bedroom spots should make at least a combined $84,000. The maximum salary limit is set at $111,020 if there are two people applying, $124,930 if there are three, $138,710 if there are four and $149,890 if there are five people. The rent for these spots is $2,450 per month.
The 236 Stagg St. building includes a bike room, gym, roof deck, laundry room and an elevator. Each apartment will come with a dishwasher, central air conditioning, a stainless steel refrigerator and oven, a video intercom, a built-in music system and parking options for an extra fee.

The Stagg Street building is now the only building in Williamsburg on the affordable lottery.
Several other buildings, most recently two on Meserole Street or Manhattan Avenue, had their deadlines expire on the list.
