Anti-Nazi Protesters Gather In Greenpoint
The protest came amid reports that right wing propaganda was being distributed in the neighborhood.

GREENPOINT, BROOKLYN - Anti-white supremacist protests in the city continued Friday with a rally at McGolrick Park in Greenpoint amid claims that fascist propaganda was being distributed in the neighborhood.
Brooklyn district attorney candidate Marc Fliedner and activists gave speeches decrying last weekend's violence in Charlottesville, Va.
"We need to advise those who would slither into Brooklyn with an intent to promote their racism and anti-Semitism and misogyny and homophobia that their bile is not welcome here," Fliedner said.

Earlier this week, local elected officials decried a report of business cards from a white supremacist group appearing in Greenpoint.

Black Lives Matter activist Kenneth Shelton, Jr. called on residents to take a stand.
"White supremacy is now going local into our neighborhoods and trying to garner support," he said. "First and foremost, we have to say no to those white supremacists."
Greenpoint resident Nicole Cirino said she has attended recent rallies including Sunday's demonstration at Grand Army Plaza.
"A lot of us are looking for ways to feel that we are fighting the hatred that’s happening across the country and across the city," said Cirino. "This is a nice opportunity to connect with my neighbors."
