Axe-Throwing Bar To Open In Greenpoint
This is will be the borough's second venue to pair drinks with throwing sharp objects.

GREENPOINT, BROOKLYN — You've gotta axe yourself one question: Do I feel lucky?
A new bar called Bury The Hatchet will open at 67 West St. Friday night and become the second venue in Brooklyn that give patrons the chance to hurl hatchets while knocking back drinks, the organization announced.
"Axe-throwing is fun because it's bada--," a promotional video on the bar's website promises. "It's something everyone can enjoy."

The new venue is part of a growing trend that started in Canada and has since been burgeoning in the United States.
“People are starved for entertainment, and they’re looking for something different," owner of the nine-hatchet bar chain Klotzkin told the Brooklyn Paper. "This is certainly different.”

The eight alleys are named after famous axe-wielders such as Lizzie Borden and Paul Bunyon, cost about $160 for groups of four to book and up to $480 for groups of 12, according to the website.
While Brooklynites will be able to chuck those axes as soon as Friday, Klotzkin admitted the venue is still waiting on its beer and wine liquor license, which he hopes will come through in November.
A similar business recently opened in Gowanus opened where owner Ginger Flesher-Sonnier told Patch she "fell in love" with the sport because it is thrilling, safe and addictive.
"People get addicted to it because it's literally about momentum," she said. "So children, women, people in a wheelchair can throw an axe."
