What to expect: This new pizzeria doesn’t just offer Italian food, it offers a thoroughly Italian dining experience. The open-air patio overlooking Union Square and the iconic bocce ball court give Bocce USQ a leg up from your standard place to get a New York slice. Spritz drinks on the patio will make you feel like you’re vacationing in Italy.

Oxomoco

Where: 128 Greenpoint Ave., Greenpoint

What to expect: This wood-fired Mexican restaurant just opened on June 5th. Corn tacos are the staple of the restaurant, but they also experiment with unique drinks, including one oven-cooked mole-mezcal cocktail. Classic taco combinations and unique cocktail specials-- like the Toasted Pineapple Cordial-- bring a twist to traditional Mexican cuisine.

Hardwood on Hudson

Where: 430 Hudson St., West Village

What to expect: Decades after they first met working at Union Square Cafe, the connoisseur couple Lisa and Terry Hardwood have just opened up their third drool-worthy restaurant-- but it’s the first within city limits. Their extremely successful first two restaurants are Cove Hollow Tavern in East Hampton and Vine Street Cafe in Shelter Island. The West Village nook offers a warm interior with amber and mahogany accents and lanterns overhead. With comfort food to match, the menu features classy comfort dishes like a Crispy Duck Confit that their first customers have been raving about.

Tender Greens

Where: 900 Broadway, FlatIron

What to expect: Where do healthy dishes meet American comfort foods? At the corner of Broadway and 20th. The LA-based Tender Greens restaurant just opened their first Manhattan location. The menu offers dishes that feel simultaneously fresh and hearty, modern and home-grown. The hormone-free Backyard Marinated Steak with greens and soup might just become your more rustic, earthier steakhouse replacement.

Dez

Where: 227 Mulberry St., Nolita

What to expect: Dez-- short for "in the desert"-- brings Middle Eastern to Mulberry. Nolita’s new fast-casual joint is the brainchild of a By Chloe co-founder, so you can expect it to be equal parts stylish and accessible. Complemented immaculate desert-inspired interior design, colorful dishes like the Beet Hummus Meze are bound to get you on the 'gram.
